Cebuano Bible – Pinadayag Version
The complete Cebuano Bible was first published in 1917. That Bible, called the Bugna version, was based on the Textus Receptus, essentially identical to the Byzantine Text of the New Testament.
The “Pinadayag” version contains a completely revised New Testament which follows a critical Greek Text. Both versions share the same Old Testament text.
This version is newer and uses modern spelling, but its more formal grammar makes it even more challenging for hearers than the earlier Bugna version, which is superior in accuracy and understandability. Since the Pinadayeg translates a Greek text with differences from Orthodox versions of the Greek Bible, it requires even closer examination and more corrections before being used pastorally in teaching or worship.
