School supplies

The school year begins on June 4. Can you help provide school supplies for young people in our mission communities?

Last year we received a gift that allowed us to provide pencils, pens, paper, notebooks, and more supplies – not only for students here at St John of Shanghai parish in Santa Maria, but to children in several other communities.

This year we are thinking bigger: we hope to equip students in all five Orthodox communities surrounding Santa Maria to start the school year with all the supplies they need. School here is not free, and some parents struggle to pay for tuition. So your gift to send kids to school with everything they need will be a huge blessing to parents who struggle to send their children to school at all.

Update: May 21 – Today at the mall in Digos City we bought school supplies for children in all five nearby Orthodox communities. This Sunday and next, after the Liturgy, we’ll distribute them, and we’ll post photos of students receiving the supplies they need for the coming school year. Thank you!
