Consecration of St Seraphim Church, Makalangot

When we began serving at Makalangot a few years ago, the chapel consisted of a few poles and a roof made of plastic sheeting. Members had begun buying hollow cinder blocks in hopes of building a permanent place to worship, but progress was slow. Since that time, several mission partners have made generous gifts toward the construction at Makalangot. Today that sacrificial giving is bearing fruit!

The chapel at Makalangot back in 2017:

Today: His Eminence Pavel, Bishop of Manila and Hanoi, together with all the clergy of the diocese, consecrated the Church of Saint Seraphim of Sarov at Makalangot, and ordained Nicholas Salgado to the diaconate: one of two deacons appointed to serve with Priest Moses Cahilig in the eight parishes of the Arakan Valley.
