Today in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia, Filipino deacon Moses Cahilig was ordained to the priesthood by Metropolitan Paul, the Orthodox Bishop of Manila and Hanoi.
His son, seminarian Dmitri Cahilig, was present; skilled in the Russian, English, and Cebuano languages as well as his native Ilonggo, he is a very helpful translator.
Father Moses begins serving his forty days of Divine Liturgies in Russia, after which he will return to the Philippines, where he serves the eight churches in the Arakan Valley region, northwest of Davao City.
