Vigil and Liturgy at Dormition Chapel, Banate

On August 28, all the clergy of the island of Mindanao gathered to celebrate the Dormition of the Mother of God, the patronal feast day of the community at Banate. The project of translating the entire Vigil service into Cebuano is complete, so for the first time the community at Banate experienced the complete service of the Vigil, Hours, and Divine Liturgy.

The chapel was too small to hold everyone, so in the evening and morning many people prayed outside on the street. But nothing discouraged this little community from honoring the Lord.
