Filipino priest granted scholarship to study iconography in Russia

Father Andrew Lim is an iconographer and priest of the Antiochian Orthodox mission in Manila. Fr Philip (Balingit), dean of the ROCOR mission in the Philippines, is studying in Russia, and there he was able to arrange a conversation leading to Fr Andrew’s receiving a scholarship to study iconography at the St Petersburg Theological Academy.

Today, with the blessing of Fr Andrew’s bishop (Antiochian Metropolitan Paul), of our bishop (ROCOR Metropolitan Hilarion) and of Bishop Ambrosy of Peterhof (Moscow Patriarchate), Fr Andrew is now in St Petersburg to begin his studies. With charity and shared vision, jurisdictional concerns need not impede the mission of the Church. Glory to God!
