Father Kiril Shkarbul is a priest of the Russian Orthodox Church in Taiwan. After last year’s disastrous typhoon Yolanda, he visited typhoon-stricken regions of the Philippines together with Monk Philip (Balingit) to share food and medicine.
This month, through the generous support of the Missionary Society of St Serapion Kozheozersky, he was able to return and provide the divine services to the faithful in the Philippines during Great Lent.
On April 16, the Divine Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts was served for the parish of St John Maximovitch in Santa Maria, and Fr Kiril received nine peopleĀ into the Church through holy baptism.
On April 17, Fr Kirill travelled to Tacloban to serve the Divine Liturgy for the Orthodox parish of St Nikolai Velimirovic in Palo, where he baptized thirteen people.
Glory to God! And thanks to those who made this trip possible.
