Father Philip is now in Russia, where he is enrolled at the Moscow Theological Seminary. There he will study the Russian language and Orthodox theology. Father Philip wrote to me today:
Here I have a confessor, I can attend daily liturgy and akathist to St.Sergius for which I am able to commemorate His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion, Bishop Sergey, Met.Nektarios, Met.Konstantinos, Met.Paul, Fr.Seraphim, you, Fr.Alexander from Singapore, the nuns who are helping him and his parishioners, all the Antiochian Filipino priests, Deacon George, our brothers and sisters in our mission areas, with my unworthy prayers; and participate in the liturgical activities in the Lavra especially during these days of the Nativity fast.
Father Philip is too humble to say so, but he is really walking by faith: His tuition, room and board are paid but he has no income to provide for clothing, travel, or other expenses. Though we are not yet set up to receive tax-deductible donations, if you are moved to send him any kind of gift or support, please contact me and we can arrange a Western Union transfer.
It would also be a great encouragement to simply write or call Father Philip, who is alone in a far country.
